Undoubtedly just what you’ve been lusting for, this month the EPA issued the Leaking Underground Storage Tank (LUST) Corrective Action Compendium to help address some of the methodologies and actions to take in stopping USTs from leaking, or manage existing leaks dependent on the type of UST and surrounding soil conditions.

This microsite is a clearinghouse to present concepts and address issues associated with corrective action of leaking underground storage tanks.

Divided into sections, it begins with an overview of the LUST corrective action process, then discusses each of the following five steps in the process:

  1. Release Discovery, Confirmation, and Initial Response
  2. Characterization of Source and Site
  3. Physical Site Assessment
  4. Corrective Action
  5. Site Closure
